CURRENT MOON

Pisces~March 2007

“Look over yonder, what do you see? The sun is a-risin’; most definitely. A new day is dawning. People are changin’. Ain’t it beautiful? Crystal blue persuasion.” ~Tommy James and the Shondells

I have loved the song Crystal Blue Persuasion since I first heard it in 1969. I’m sure I’ve heard it thousands of times by now and it still stirs my spirit and warms my heart. If you’d like to join me in my groovy retro mood you can hear my choice for ‘Pisces Song’ along with the video on You Tube. Things were surely changing in 1969. The video speaks to the extremes of the day; blissed out flower children in one clip and their brothers at war in the next. Though I remember a lot of talk at the time of the ‘generation gap’, citizens, divided even within generations, on both ends of the spectrum expressed in increasingly dramatic ways, while the calm, solid citizens on the middle ground did their best to hold onto the world they’d known. In the years to come most of those in the middle were forced to gravitate to one side or the other.

Change happens in our three-dimensional world of polarities. When both ends of a particular continuum have stretched beyond the limits of equilibrium, like a rubber band that is stretched and then released, energy and tension continue to build until eventually something’s got to give. At the point at which the ends come colliding into the center freeing the energy previously held in place to reveal and release fresh, new possibilities that were not previously conceivable.

Speaking of retro, Mercury has been retrograde since February 13th first in Pisces and has now backed into the late degrees of Aquarius. It will resume forward movement on March 7th or 8th depending on your location. Currently the Sun, Uranus and the North Node are traveling through Pisces creating an atmosphere in which letting go of the old ways and opening to the new is a higher option. We are entering a time when it is increasingly possible to live our visions as we learn to become more conscious deliberate creators in our life.

Letting go is a process. Some days it’s easier than others. Some things we willingly lay on the alter of Neptune, the ‘great dissolver’ and ruling planet of Pisces, and without another thought move on. Sometimes our fists clench in anger and frustration over having already given up so much and now we are asked to dig deeper and release not only the surface level of the thing but the core that has been a part of us since, well, probably forever. Some of us are happy to let it go knowing from experience that, as contrary as it may sound, it is in letting go that we are free to grow.

This last month of winter, while the Sun is in Pisces, is the annual time of completion, releasing and letting go—surrendering that which no longer serves us positively and clearing space for something that reflects who we are today. As we honor what our insides are telling us and make decisions and adjustments in how we live and what we do, based on how we feel, we open to new levels of self-awareness and personal growth. I read years ago that often people are resistant to making decisions because they are afraid of losing something. In truth, by continuing to not decide and define what we prefer, now, we render ourselves adrift on an unconscious sea of chaos where nothing has space to shine or stand out.

My mom called last night with the news that my great aunt, Elsie, had just passed away. She is the last of her generation on my grandmother’s side of the family. She lived 99 ½ years, living a good ten years beyond the passing of her beloved younger sister. Pisces is the sign of endings, completion, death, transcending the trappings of this world and entertaining the possibilities of the etheric world of spirit. I can just see the party awaiting Elsie’s arrival, almost like when I was young and Elsie would come to visit at the holidays. “Come in, come in, come in!” my grandmother, Alice, would say with a smile as big as you please, holding the door open wide. “We’ve all been waiting for you.” I’ve been hearing flashes of their joyful reunion in my inner ear from time to time as my grandfather, great aunts and uncles chime in with hugs and greetings. Though we, who love her, will miss her, all is as it should be.

I’ve been hearing from those in my circles that people are leaving the planet in large numbers these days. As we move further into this twenty-first century way of living many have accomplished what they came to do and are making their exits in waves. Many us who are still here either are either now or will soon find ourselves helping to create vehicles and build bridges to help us and those who are waking up, now, in record numbers.

Between the teachings of Abraham, and movies like What The Bleep Do We Know and The Secret, which exploded its sales after being featured on Oprah, more people are being exposed to ideas that are likely commonplace to many of you reading this. For those of us who’ve been pushing the edges of our awareness and reality for a while now this information is nothing new. The work we have done has paved new pathways for those who are just behind us in their spiritual journey to greater consciousness so they will move more quickly and easily into the places we have been holding energetically for some time. The reinforcements are coming. Much of the ‘heavy lifting’ is behind us and we are free to create with greater ease, using the muscles we’ve built, the tools we have created and perfected to live in a more joyful and meaningful ways.

Almost forty years later the words to my old favorite, Crystal Blue Persuasion, ring truer than ever. A new day is dawning. People are changing. It is beautiful. It is, if we look with the eyes of love and compassion, two of Pisces favorite qualities. As Tommy James wrote, “Just look to your soul and open your mind.”

I wish you many blessings and all the wonderful Piscean pleasures you can imagine as we move through these late days of winter.
